| | I have a character concept that's an infernal pact Warlock--he goes in to he life Spark Stealer class (I think that's the Paragon path name). Should be wicked fun! I love the concept of devouring souls and using them as power--kind of like Morbizan from Summoner 2. Hey, maybe I'll use a big maul, too, buwahahah! | | | |

| | Halfling Warlock with the fey pact and my first feat happened to be rogue. What do yall think? I'm not really going to use many of the multiclass feats because they're not all that great until later levels anyways. I figured the extra damage once per encounter could be rather useful once in a while. | | Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. Also known as Hurricane Alley! I always try to send through delivery confirmation, and I expect the same. It's only 55 cents extra, so it's just a little more than a pay phone call, so just do it for the Kai. | I'm really digging human wizards. Armor Prof: Leather and Initiate of the Faith at 1st level. Alternately, for the more true gish build fighter with all four multiclass feats dropping a paragon path and taking levels in wizard.
So far it seems that multiclassing is substantially less game-breaking than in 3.x. I really like that.
Honestly, though, I could get excited for almost any race/class combo. Melee ranger built around shifting and Storm of Steel seems awesome. Eladrin Rogue (teleport/sneak attack) seems pretty good. Warlords seem incredibly fun to play (so much battlefield manipulation...).
I'm much less excited about picking paragon paths. The base classes are sufficiently awesome. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References | |

| I'm tempted to run a Infernal Pact Dwarf in heavy armor right now.

| For Races, Humans, Half Elves and Eladrins seem most interesting. For Classes I really like Warlords, Paladins and Warlocks
The character I actually play is a half elf Paladin dualing into Warlock. :) The character I just made was a human Wizard to see if they are as weak as people are complaining over on the WotC boards. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | I'm most excited to start playing a 4e adventure with the same race/ class I prefered when playing 3.5: Elf Ranger after my initial shock of realising I won't be able to track anymore (not in the same way at least) and won't have an animal companion either. :(
Other classes I find interesting include the warlord. I still have a hard time to imagine one in a small adventure band, but given the right background story for the character and good roleplay by his player, it could be very interesting. I immediately had to think of one of my mates who always plays a darven fighter. He would prosper in roleplaying a dwarf warlord. When preparing for a fight, he would come up with nice stories about long gone battles his warlord won by applying the tactics discussed by the group. When using his powers to improve attacks/ defenses etc of others, he would shout, praise Moradin or just say funny but fitting stuff with his "dwarven" accent. If the warlord's player is a quite bloke, however, I have a hard time to see the warlord class fitting into the group of independent adventurers.

| | I know this is slightly off-topic, but hearing Michael mention the "dwarven" accent made me think of this. It seems like dwarves have be assumed to speak with a Scottish-type accent, while elves speak in flawlessly educated British. Wouldn't it be interesting, and fun, to have characters that speak with accents different from those stereotypes? Like, for example, a dwarf that speaks in ebonics, or an elf with a Jamaican accent? Or how about a country-western voice? | | Trade references: http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/forumid/53/postid/801085/view/topic/Default.aspx Trades on WotC: vandyfry, hothie. Cyriss | |

| | We always use Russian for dwarves here. They're about the only ones who get accents though unless we go overboard. | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless | |

| My campaigns are a bit odd.
Dragons (and anything dragon-ish) are Japanese. Dwarves are normally German. Elves tend to be Welsh (looked down upon or ignored ). Goblinoids tend to be Pacific Islander. Barbarians (and usually Orcs) of any persuasion usually end up somewhere between Scottish and Russian. Tieflings are (for some unknown reason) from the deep South (possibly because cajun must be somewhat akin to Infernal). Halflings are British (I blame Tolkein). Trolls are always cockney (I blame Tolkein).
Humans are a blend of Western European (bartenders and snooty nobles tend to be French), Arabic, and Chinese. There's always at least one highly militaristic human nation based on Rome/Latin.
I guess our favored "accents" comes from having several linguists at the table often spouting out snippets of various languages. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. I'm not really going to use many of the multiclass feats because they're not all that great until later levels anyways. I figured the extra damage once per encounter could be rather useful once in a while. Sounds good, I've been considering that a Charisma 18+ halfling, can be used as any of {Paladin, Warlock, Rogue} And should probably cross class as 2 of those 3. As far as I can see the choice of which one to select as the characters main class is determined by which abilities/feats/class powers you prefer. Whatever exact mix of abilities you select the halfling is still basically a blitzer/striker. You might try designing the essentially the same character up to 11th level, starting as a Rogue, cross classing to get warlock attacks. And vis-versa starting as a warlock, cross classing for rogue abilities.
