Oh, and on a local note I voted for "Super" Dell Schanze (yes, he's seriously crazy but when the inmates are running the asylum anyway...). Anyone who actually has their name listed as "Super" Dell on the ballot in a gubernatorial race is too awesome not to back (plus our current governor is indescribably mediocre).

McCain/Palin, camp seems to be falling apart blaming each other, then out on the campaign trail McCain acts like its all okay. Poor guy, first he sells his soul for a shot at the Presidency and now he seems to be going senile.
Obama, a 30 minute special on two networks on thursday? I hope its half as good as they skit SNL did making fun of it. I guess you have THAT much campaign money it's as good a spending cost as anything else he could do with it...
They're all pretty typical politicians but McCain just does even seem to be trying to look sincere and Palin is even more self-righteous than when she started her run (if that's even possible).
Obama and Biden gaffes aside at least look like they really care about fixing the country.

America likes to think of itself as a bastion of pure capitalism (though it's far from it), so words like socialism and communism take on very negative connotations there. That's all.
I'm not even sure if pure capitalism could work. Same holds true for pure communism. We're always just working in various shades of grey.

I dont want the government controlling my business. I dont want them controlling my healthcare coverage. Id prefer not to send my kids to their schools. Theres a reason why private schools and business's get better results than ones run by state and government.
Until recently capitalism had been working very well. If the government hadnt mandated loans to be given to people who had a history of being unable to repay existing debt than maybe this mess might not be so bad. these loans were so bad that investors sold them overseas. If I make over $250k why should i have to give my money to someone who doesnt pay tax's. Opportunity is there for most people to get ahead. Whats the incentive for people to go out and overachive and make more than $250k? how are new jobs going to be created from this?
I'm not saying that either candidate is better than the other but i'm really worried about the next 4 years.

Regardless of who's in power, you're right, we're in for a rough ride. Too many things need mending, and almost all of it will cost money. Deeper debt is no good.
I admire McCain's idea of a blanket spending freeze, but it's unrealistic.

 What's the incentive for making more then $250k? Making more money! That arguement does work
 yes there is a small threshold where a lower income could be making more after taxes but for the most part people in higher tax brackets make more
 money.
