I have yet to use her because I would love a clarification regarding how she gets into the game. She starts off-map. Is her only means of getting on-map to use her Waylay ability, thus she's unavailable for an entire round? Seems a little silly to me that she has to use her special just to get into the game.

I believe that Waylay is optional, if you don't wish to start her off of the map and get the placement ability then just start her with your band.

Waylay is optional, but Delayed Appearance is not. She must start off the battle map. Due to the wording of Waylay, there is no way for her to enter before the second round.

So Waylay is the only way to get her onto the map? That seems silly to me, they should have worded it better instead of making Waylay "optional"; your choice is to keep her out of the game entirely or to use the ability and put her in.

I find her ineffectual only because of her att bonus. Her ability to appear from nowhere is huge and her healing is some of the best in the game... And she does 25dmg a swing. She's usually worth it unless your "squishy" behind the lines blaster is a TBA. I need to run her more really now that I think about it.

Well, my choice for play has been either Rikka and a Goblin Runner or a Cleric of Pelor and a Farmer. I like the Cleric of Pelor, I just need to remember to watch for the 16+ rolls. Rikka had been suggested here on the forums so I'd like to give her a try, but the whole she does nothing for a round kinda puts me off. Maybe I'll just stick to the Pelorite.

Rikka is, actually, a good healer, no more. If you want to use her in a competitive warband you have to try in Drizzt-Runecarver-Ryld-WEW warband (300 PTS format). Then, she could get +21 attack making 50 damage at list twice in battle.
