very similar to my qualifier band this year. I used the MFL and 2 delvers with 2 spiders, a Delver sergt, rot scarab swarm, and a Boneshard. It's strong against titans, good against multi hitter bands, but suffers against ranged heavy bands since the delvers are so slow.

When demonweb hits I'm adding a skull lord for healing and more ranged and some cheap undead and a rat.

MFLich
Skull lord
UH Delver x2
Boneshard x3
Rat

I'm awaiting a 5pt undead so the fodder can be a little different.

Rock Bottom Pricing:
Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

What map should i use?

With you warband (definately a solid WB):

Mind Flayer Lich
Umber Hulk Delver x2
Deep Legeonaire x3 OR Boneshard Skeleton x3
Deathjump Spider x4

I would use Flooded Ruins for your map.  Other ok choices might be Evermelt, Frostfell Rift.Â

Sirohk, the Bard of Heartstone
Knight of the Rahshasa's
And Crusader of the Zakya, Ak'chazar, Naztharune, and Naityan Rakshasa's

I cant decide if frostfell is good or bad. i can hit my oponent from the very beggining, but if hes ranged, he'll wack me out easily. What of Jungle Temple?

and boneshards or deep legeonaires?

the DL has conceal 6, wich makes him hard to hit, but the boneshard has the death burst, so im kinda in doubt with wut i should use.

or mushroom cavern, keep of fallen kings 1. mfl+umber hulks rulez! you might consider tba+umber hulks for the same cost in wild as well.

I like Jungle Temple, i used sometimes playing with MFL. That map Obligates to your opponent to move forward quickly and then you can take some advantage.

I personaly dont think the TBA is even half the mini the MFL is.
Less HP, no champion power (MFL CHP rulez), less AC, no immunitys/resistances....just because he area attacks for confusion? what if u have one of your minis right in the middle? he takes it to. i'd rather single target, more damage and the slide. and also, mind blast, really great when ur running out of resources. black tentacles is also very usefull.

I quite agree, just pointing out that it is an option :)

TBA in wild without bodyguards is not going to last long.

I like broken demongate personally. You know where the action is going to happen and can usually get line of sight pretty well and the burrowing umberhulks can stay hidden and go through walls. It was my map of choice.

Rock Bottom Pricing:
Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

I'd have to disagree with this assessment unless your opponent is playing a melee-only band.  If Jungle Temple is your map, then when you win map initiative, he will set up first on the protected side.  The orientation of the forest on that side of the map allows for ranged attacks while remaining completely hidden.  Since the MFL targets nearest, you might never have anything to shoot at unless you're standing adjacent.

I've found Frostfell Rift fairly good for the MFL if you're playing at least two of them but with only one, you run the risk of running into a stronger ranged band and the slow Umberhulks will have a hard time getting across the map.

I do like the suggestion of Broken Demongate because from either side, you have a bottleneck that the Umberhulks can block up while keeping the MFL relatively safe.

Yes, you´re right! Actually there´s a lot of dangerous miniatures that wasn´t before may/2008.

i think im goin with broken demongate. the bottleneck is pretty useful, and i can stop the offensive easaly with the DLs with conceal, cuz they'll be hard to hit, and maybe go around with the UHDs for the flankin, while the MFL bombards my oponent

I might try this redone older warband i had

Evil
Underdark
Mind Flayer Lich(63)
Drow Wand Mage(50)
Shield Guardian(41)
2 x Delver Sergeant(15)
5 x Ravenous Dire Rat(3)

199 pnts, 10 acts

this warband you get protection for the MFL from the Shield guardian
and shield guardian can reproduce ice ray...

2 delvers for either Drowwand mages champ effect to let MFL reroll its necro attack... or for MFL cancel enemys CP...

The remake was i got lower pt fillers now with the Direrats

I usually used fodder to bottleneck and take out opposing fodder and have the hulks sap as they move and pounceon anything that is confused. 4x +19 for 20 + whatever your fodder and mindflayer do takes things down fast (if this band rolls average a lg gold is toast in very few rounds).

Rock Bottom Pricing:

another idea would be with solamith, hes sight radius attack realy rooooocks :p

Solamith
UHD x2
DJS x5
DL x2 or Boneshard x2

but i would lack a champion....

or i could go with:

MFL
Solamith
UHD
DJS x3
RD rat x3

heavy artilary :D

if you are looking for blockers the boneshards are great as they punish your enemy for taking them out plus they don't let the thrall rack up +60hp.

If you are wanting more artillery I still think the skull lord combo with boneshards is a nice option.

Rock Bottom Pricing:
Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

I'd also vote Boneshards over Deep Legionnaires any day.  Once you roll a crit on a death burst, you'll never consider anything else  :)
