I have a bunch of questions that came up at a recent tournament.

If your figure has an area attack with the restriction of nearest but all enemies are invisible... is this figure essentially useless?  Could this figure run up to an adjacent space to the invisible target, take the AO (which the target may not take to remain invisible) then cast an area spell/attack a few spaces away to only affect the target?  This occurred in a 100 point battle with 2 Emerald Orb Wizards against a Gelatinous Cube.

If a player chooses to attack a target.  When should the target figures player choose to boost that targets DEF?  Can they wait until the acting player rolls the dice and they see the outcome?  This has occured with the Mercenary General and the Eternal Blade.  Is the DEF score nailed down before the roll or is it allowed to be flexible after the roll is confirmed?  This leads into the next question.

If a Galeb is confirmed to be hit, can his player choose Stone Skin before damage is calculated or right after the roll?Â

Can the Cleric of Pelors champion power be used/triggered , the one granting the +2 to attack) when he is hit and killed?

If Wulfgar is running with 3 Delvers.  Wulfgar moves up and hits someone with a basic attack, can all 3 Delvers make him repeat the attack by copying Wulfgars champion power?

If an animal or elemental with 2 Hierophant champions scores a hit, can both Hierophants add their +20 damage to that animals damage calculation?

If a Young Silver Dragon is accompanied by 9 Delver Sergeants can all 9 copy the Silver Dragons score +10 VP while ending in a Victory area?  This is a fast cheesy way to get 100 VP in the 2nd/3rd round.

I'm sure I had other silly questions, but these are the most relevant?

No.  The figure can still do other things, and still gets to activate.

Could this figure run up to an adjacent space to the invisible target, take the AO (which the target may not take to remain invisible) then cast an area spell/attack a few spaces away to only affect the target?
"Nearest" requires line of sight.  If you can't see, you can't attack.  (At least, this is my claim for now, subject to my taking the time to look it up.)

If a player chooses to attack a target.  When should the target figures player choose to boost that targets DEF?

Depends on what the card says.  But, more importantly, you need to follow the order of operations in the attack rules (see the Oracle).

Can they wait until the acting player rolls the dice and they see the outcome?  This has occured with the Mercenary General and the Eternal Blade.  Is the DEF score nailed down before the roll or is it allowed to be flexible after the roll is confirmed?  This leads into the next question.

If a Galeb is confirmed to be hit, can his player choose Stone Skin before damage is calculated or right after the roll?

The Galeb Duhr and the Oni can kick in their powers after the attack succeeds and before the damage is applied.  The Eternal Blade's +4 DEF power comes before the die roll.  Again, see the Oracle.

Can the Cleric of Pelors champion power be used/triggered , the one granting the +2 to attack) when he is hit and killed?

The champion power kicks in on the attack, not on the damage, so, the consequences of the damage (i.e. elimination) happen afterwards.  So, yes, the Cleric of Pelor can use this.

If Wulfgar is running with 3 Delvers.  Wulfgar moves up and hits someone with a basic attack, can all 3 Delvers make him repeat the attack by copying Wulfgars champion power?

Seems like it, but I'd have to double check.  There may be a good reason why you couldn't do this, but, off the top of my head, I can't think of it.

If an animal or elemental with 2 Hierophant champions scores a hit, can both Hierophants add their +20 damage to that animals damage calculation?

No.

If a Young Silver Dragon is accompanied by 9 Delver Sergeants can all 9 copy the Silver Dragons score +10 VP while ending in a Victory area?  This is a fast cheesy way to get 100 VP in the 2nd/3rd round.

Maybe.

I'm sure I had other silly questions, but these are the most relevant?

I wish I had better answers to some of these, but I've been too busy lately. Dave

Oracle agrees with Vrecknidj. If the creature is invisible and the target on a spell is nearest, since you cannot see the creature, you cannot target him within the spell as would be required for the spell to happen. As far as running past him and seeing if your opponent will take the OA, that is *so* meta-gaming; how do you know he's there if he's invisible? ^_~ But if it breaks invisibility, then you have LoS and could in fact target.

If Wulfgar is running with 3 Delvers. Wulfgar moves up and hits someone with a basic attack, can all 3 Delvers make him repeat the attack by copying Wulfgars champion power?

If I'm groking the phases and simultaneous effects stuff correctly, yes, this is legal. It would be much more smooth to have them copy the power before he makes the attack, but I don't see anything, aside from a mess of keeping things straight, that says it's not possible to do all of this as soon as he lands a hit.

604.7. If the attack is a hit, all triggered powers and effects that trigger on a hit must be
declared. Any activated powers available on a hit can be declared. These powers and
effects are then resolved in simultaneous effects order.

The Delver's ability is usable at any time, so they can use their ability to take Wulfgar's ability and then, within the same phase, can use that borrowed ability to give him a second hit. Since these are all resolved simultaneously, the controller gets to choose the order, so just make sure you can keep it all straight! :p

It looks like it's valid for the same reason as Wulfgar above. I'd think it'd have to be played carefully, as the victory areas are not generally very big so a few AoEs could take out some of your precious Delvers before they actually get to the beginning of the next round.
