| Being unprepared would really explain how sucK ass I did tonight. Granted the track record of mine is sucky but tonight was totally a suck fest. I came prepard tom play my duel Skullcleave warband on horsies and proceeded to lose very badly.
My warband: EB Skullcleave x2 Horsey x2 Raistlin (won't be in version 2) Goblin runner Bat
My map was Hellspike
My oppenent wanted to play on one of the championship maps. Sure I said, not knowing exactly what he was playing.
His warband: Merc General Tomebound Arcanist Merchant Guard Sellswords Militia Archer? and a farmer
We ended up playing on Dwarf Outpost.
From my take on this warband of mine, I think it may have done better if we had played on Hellspike then this band may have had a chance. Having not played that much recently. My placement was horrible, instead of charging in like I should have. I was preoccupied with the Tombound and the Confusion spell which essentially and eventually confused everyone in my band except Raistlin and my Bat Familiar. Thoughts suggestions on how I could have made this better? Sub Raistlin for a Wild Mage? Change the fooder out as the bat was a totally worthless piece in this disaster so the Mage can fit?
Note to self-more practice.
Thanks for any help and suggestions.

| You have a good band, although I'd kill the bat for more fodder.
Next time, you will know how powerful radius 2 is and you will position accordingly:) | | 2007 & 2008 Czech Republic Champion 2008 Czech Republic's Player of the Year

| | I once played with my friend on Peregrine. he had some dwarves and I had Warden and plants. He set up in the opened start area, won init and let me begin:) So I used radius 2 fire strike to kill half of his warband and damage the rest. He was just a little shocked and conceded quickly afterwards:-)) | | 2007 & 2008 Czech Republic Champion 2008 Czech Republic's Player of the Year

| Against effects like Confusion, multiple Merchant Guards can keep your other pieces in the game long enough to do something.
The Tomebound Arcanist is squishy, if you can ever manage to get across the board. And, you'd think that a figure on a Warhorse wouldn't have so much trouble getting across the board.
So, my recommendation is to get some Merchant Guards, and restrict the Warhorse's first round of movement to a square adjacent to where the Merchant Guard will end up after his own movement.
Given what you have listed, there's an easy fix:
Eternal Blade Skullcleave Warrior x2 Warhorse x2 Merchant Guard x4 Goblin Runner
This will allow you to move two Merchant Guards forward and keep two behind to continue to protect the other pieces.
Still, it won't be easy, as a Guard can only protect one piece at a time, and that Confusion takes up a big space.

| I have only the following advice:
You should name the Warband "My Little Skullcleave"

| | May not need to double mount the skullcleaves... they are more powerful that way but you can fit in a third beater if you take only a single warhorse... I recoment Rikka... she'll get across the map untouched! | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless | |
