| My comment on converting is merely a note that if you really want to have a combined rider/mount combination, you can make it. People have done it on previous figures. It's not something I expect most people to do.
There are some people that would love an unmounted and a mounted version of a figure. It's something that hasn't been done well up to this point. I'd want several for the various looks of a party; a heavily armored, a lightly armored, and an unarmored version. Obviously, not in the same set as that would be too much.Â
I'm not going to be able to please everyone with every figure, but I need to make this product appeal to as many as I can. The major difficulty is having miniatures that fit the needs for both new and old consumers.
For example, there is a large number of female giants in these lists -- that is good for older consumers, but not as good for new ones. (The hill giant has the best shot; I'd want uncommon males for frost and giant before doing any uncommon females.) | | Champion of the common Flying Monkey (Fez optional) Peter Lee on the WotC board BAD WOLF

| I'd like to see more Large Minotaurs (hopefully this is still an option); cleric (platemail and morning star), arcane caster (staff, robes around waist), heavy armoured (platemail, great sword), uncommon brute (mace) & uncommon standard infantry type (splintmail, spear and shield). I like the harbinger look the best or the Young Minotaur, but I'd like D&D to pick a design flavour.
Without hesitation, I agree with your assessment of female giants being uncommon. Uncommon female giants would be overkill. I'm guessing a combat encounter with females happens less often, unless you encounter; sirens, harpies, liliths, amazons or drow (or they're seemingly androgynous like an ettercap or chuul). The uncommon ogress skirmisher isn't used as often as the others because it's female (by me anyways).
Hoping for 1 uncommon and 1 rare in each set like in war drums, that was a huge boon for the collection.
I like your idea with mounted minis, I'm not worried about matches, we always just use whatever is closest. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | Now female trolls are a different situation entirely. =) If you accept the flavour text in "A Practical Guide to Monsters" then they're typically the spiritual leaders or chieftains of any given pack. I wouldn't mind seeing a female troll, anyhow. A shamanistic look, and Rare most likely though.
We'll need a large Death Giant soon, though I'd prefer that it look somewhat different from the Death Titan rather than simply being a smaller version as in the uninspiring MM illustration.
We haven't had a riderless unicorn since archfiends.
I have a thing for owlbears, but we already have three. While I wouldn't mind an uncommon one, there are more pressing issues.
My favourite Giant type is definitely Frost, and I echo the need for more of them. Uncommon would be fantastic.
A good sculpt of a giant raven could be pretty sweet, especially given the Raven Queen's presence in the new assumed setting.
While giant ants are now mounts in "Adventurer's Vault", and would have simple paint jobs and be great in large numbers, very careful attention would need to be payed to the sculpt to keep them from looking extremely dorky.
I always thought Cloakers were rather eerie and cool creatures in the 3rd edition MM and they'd also be nice in large numbers, but it would also be tricky to get the sculpt to look right with them. At least they wouldn't take too much paint.
In any case, apart from what's already been mentioned, those are what I can think of off the top of my head.

| | My love of Mounted Figures comes with zero thought of them being used as PCs and every bit as much as NPCs and foes and troops. The Valener Nomad Charger and Valiant Calvary have seen uncountable use as Dark Knights in my current DL campaign. The Skeletal Courser is my all time favourite mini and the Baneback rider is definitely up there too. The Warhorse see a lot of use too, for the PCs and NPCs a like but gets boring. I hope we still see the ocasional mounted guy. | | Champion of the Kender ckissee - "providing TPK's since 2007" Albert Einstein never once said that if the bees disappeared, "man would have only four years of life left" but the theory is a scary prospect. | |

maybe mobs of creatured on a large base?
E.G. four zombies on a large base in various positions such as crawling/stumbling
a couple of stalking theives/bandits/rogues
a wizard and a familiar or apprentice( luggage carrier :p)
an orc cheif with goblinoid runners surrounding him
a ranger/hunter with a couple of wolves/panthers/dogs pacing beside him
a group of 3 monks maybe one meditating another holding up a scroll/religious artifact
a few sheild/pike baring soldiers in turtle/ phalanx formation
a warlord with slaves surrounding him
etc etc

| I love that you went for the peryton :) But....... I really don't want more then on fig on base unless its a swarm because then its no longer a mini for RPG but a statue for looking at. I might be alone but I would prob quit if collecting if they started on that. | Thanks Pete for the post. How are you doing btw? Long time no talk (don't have your email or phone #)... Now, on to business: Definately want Uncommon Frost Giants While Uncommon Desert Scorpions are a Close Second
And Yeti is a Close Third
Your mounted idea is Awesome, I would very much like more horses (think the warhorse that came out was more like a riding horse) Separate knight, separate horse, mounted knight (diferent poses, same figs)
Speaking of different poses same figs, I know there were already talks about commons having two paint scemes. How about having different poses for them as well? Just like the Star Wars Minis? And on a similar note, the same hill giant/ogre with a different pose as a large uncommon would be really cool.
Large Uncommon:Â Cyclopeses, War Devils, Displacer Beasts (we have a huge uncommon, why not a large?), Driders, Phoenixes, Deathrattle Vipers, Unicorns, Pegasae, Worgs, Trolls (we went from Rare to Large Uncommon to Rare again, why is that?), mosntrous spiders (not phase spiders;), and Hippogriffs.
I aslo really like Demonwebs direction with "Dungeon Dressing/Objects" and would really like to see more figs along this vein. Such as Large Uncommon: Mushrooms, Trees, Wagons, Pillars, Traps, etc.
                          Thanks again Pete,
                                           TeoÂ

| A lot of good suggestions here and I agree with most, other than mobs on large bases. Not too keen about that one.
I would really love a Large Yuan-Ti, like the one in Aberrations. | I really like the idea of single figures in different poses (or with or without mounts) if not overdone. I was thinking that the only one we've had like this was the Man At Arms from Harbinger, and the one from Aberrations. I have several of both, and would like to see another done, but along the lines of similar garb and different weapon (kind of like the Human Crossbowman and the City Guard). The Sharn Redcloak would be an excellent choice to do this with, as the bow wielding one has a sheathed sword visible. Another could be made in a sword wielding pose, with the bow slung across his back, and Voila; Presto, you have the makings of a mercenary army.
