I am trying to read up on this at thier own forum, but it's not loading for me =/

Any of you guys know why the lower half of the WoTC Homepage for DDM has blacked out boxes for me, and how to fix them? The boxes that say "News", "D&D Q&a", "Community", and "Submissions."

Thanks for any help!

Can you post a link to the page you're having trouble with?

As of 6:50pm (MDT) the page works fine for me. Text and links are where they should be.

What browser are you using? (I'm using Firefox 3.01).

For what it's worth, the site wasn't loading for me either for the past hour or so. Why I need to check the site so often is beyond me. (I'm using Firefox...um...verision 2.00.13.13 apparently)

I can get to the homepage, but no luck on the message boards.

Did WoTC update thier site a while back, maybe a few months ago? I have had the black boxs since then and didnt really care until I used my GF's laptop and realized the difference. I also haven't been able to view thier forums since a day or two before this thread started.

I use IE 6.0, have windows SP2. Maybe a browser and/or a windows update might help...

No problems here. I did hear about this problem on the D&Di Forums (I think that's where I saw it).

Some of them are talked about here.

I am using IE 6 and the black out is there for me.

Sounds like it's most likely a browser version issue. Latest versions of IE (7) and Firefox (3) seem to work just fine.

Companies often like to implement new, fun, techy stuff on their websites and don't account for the fact that older browser versions won't always support the new features.

It's been doing that to me for months on my laptop with IE 6. Just checked on my desktop with IE 7 and it loads fine.

It's one of many bugs that IE5 and IE6 have with page layout done using the CSS standards.

I've had the black box problem on IE 6 for ages. As others have said, not on 7 or Firefox. But even so, WotC should probably be designing to work with IE6...twits.

Definitely IE 6.x related. I use other browsers at home with no issues.

As for gleemax, you won't have to worry about that much longer....
