| The large monsters & buildings are about 2.3" square and the smaller ones are half that size. This is a really fun game btw. | | Champion of (Aspect of) Kurtulmak Trade References | |

| Played my first game tonight. The system is complicated, but once you get the hang of things it's a blast.
I do wish it wasn't a collectible mini game however. It's a bit of a pain to get your squad just right.

| Sounds intriguing, but I no longer have any interest in sinking money into a collectible mini game. | | | WotC has plenty of people all too willing to tell them how wonderful they are. I'm not one of those people. | |

Most of the folks I've played with have commented it would do better as a non-collectible game. | | | Champion of the Sucubuss Paladin and the Celestial Vrock.

| But a non-collectible game doesn't make the company as much money or lend itself to organized play. For those concerned with the cost, you can play the game for free on Vassal--A Raw has created a module for it. We are trying to get a league going on Friday and Saturda nights and I'd be happy to show people around and teach them about the game. The rules are available for free on the MonPoc website. The basic concepts of the game are relatively easy to learn--it's the special abilities, etc. that take more time to learn. The rules are also well written and tight.
Back to cost, you need a starter. That'll give you your first monster pair plus the rules, map, some units and dice. If you want to be as frugile as possible, you then just go to ebay or a online store and buy the buildings and units you need to support whatever monster you get. The rules allow for 12 buildings and 15 units but you are not required to have that many, although it is recommended. I would estimate that you you could do all that under $80 depending on your choices--some buildings and units are more pricey.
Try a demo or check it out online--it's a great game that does an excellent job of recreating the flavor of monster movies a la Gozilla or shows like Ultraman.

| Seems to be 50-75 stores regularly running events (about 150 occurrences of each prize kit, but some stores run an event multiple times). Series 5 releases in April. Voltron set in July. Series 6 probably in August.
Will there be anything past series 6? I'm not confident. SWM has a larger player base and has been canceled. Poor DDM sales are causing it to be revamped, again, and it's only getting one set this year. WoW minis died after only 2 sets. Mutant Chronicles was stillborn (had to mention it as Monpoc, WoW, and MC released around the same time). On the plus side, Heroclix is back and AAM seems to be doing fine with 2 sets scheduled for release so maybe SWM & DDM are indications of WotC issues rather than and indication that CMGs are dying.
