Has anybody tried useing the Starfighter rules from the SW RPG game???

If I rember they were very very good and had all the ships from Star destroyer to Tie Fighter. Â

Yes. we have done it, it's such a better game with RPG rules. The skirmish is WAY too simplified. The ion cannons and missiles don't behave right.
We did a battle with an Interdicter with Tie compliment vs a Nebulon B, a few X Wings, Y Wings and B Wings. The Y wings scored a crit with the ion cannons vs the interdictor, it was pretty ugly.
The Tie fighters are very maneuverable in RPG, this is not reflected in skirmish at all.

The rpg rules are good, but are more detailed and complicated for beginning gamers. The new ruleset comes out in a couple of months that I'm sure will have miniatures in mind, if you are a bit more patient. Better yet, who wants to go back and bust out the WEG rules!

New Rule set???? A new SW RPG ???? What's this about ???? I have not heard. Any good news??? I just collected alll the books for Revised SW RPG............

Its the fact brother. Star Wars RPG Saga Edition I believe comes out in June. Massively streamlined, corrected, and up to date. There is a jedi counseling article dedicated to it on WoC's website. If you you just dished a bunch out on the revised rule books, they will still be good resources. I still use WEG sources and its a totally different system.

Yes, now SWRPG would be 3th edition! ^^!

I hope they don´t really change the amazing rules they did with the revised edition, maybe put a little more easy the starships rules; i think this one would be More miniature focused.
