This post is meant to serve a dual purpose- one is to show those who are contemplating a purchase of some Soulrider Devils what they look like up close, and the other is to share with you how I will be using them:



I'll be using mine in a desert type of environment, as elite warriors in a spooky tribe that is both cruel and evil.  The explanation for the elaborate headresses is that they are the skins of a dangerous animal that plagues certain parts of the desert, and that it is a rite of passage for the warriors to slay one.  The headresses certainly inspire terror in those unlucky enough to make contact with this tribe.  The mini representing their cheiftain is a Sith Witch.  Her weapon will probably be an unearthed artifact of some sort.  Nothing to base a campaign on, but an interesting side plot or obstacle for the PCs to deal with while they are in the desert.





*It's hard to see from the angle that I took the pic that the lower half of the Soulrider Devil mini's face is not covered, making the headress interpretation of the mini plausable.

Cool idea,

I only kept one for collection purposes, but I might browse through my trade-bin to retrieve them.

I was thinking about repainting one as Anubis, but I can't paint...

I only have one, but had already decided on making it an NPC human wearing an egyptian-esqe head dress. Nice looking force assembled like that, your PC's should be in for some fun encounters.

Elf Spearguard is still a great mini for RPG btw.

I preordered my soulrider devil, not realizing that there was a creature on the head. Now it's gone to stay in my trade bin until traded away. I'm glad you are able to get some use out of it, though.

Here are some more additions to the original scenario. I've decided to incorporate it into my homebrew world as a ruined ancient civilization (think Ur of the Chaldees, or Mohenjo-daro in ancient India); basically only known by name and the odd artifact from areas once occupied by them. The civilization was know as Uhn, and lies across a great mountain range infested with hobgoblins. Past the mountains lies a vast desert/wasteland that is plagued by electrical storms. The only inhabitants are the tribes mentioned above that inhabit stone temples dedicated to gods long forgotten. Scattered about the region are ruins of cities from what appears to be an advanced civilization. Deep within the wastes, one of the cities still survives, but is populated by only a handful of inhabitants (think totally automated habitation with some parts broken, sort of like Logan's Run). I will probably use Star Wars tiles to represent this.
