Drizzt is expensive for a few reasons... one of which is that there were relatively few of him produced as he was in an early set. Raistlin will be produced in far, far, far greater numbers. I expect him to be priced in the same mold as a slightly more expensive Elminster... He won't come close to the Drizzt territory... ever. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. He'll likley be no more valuable than any other average rare. The main deciding factor will be how useful he is in skirmish. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

Not a chance in hell. He'll be a 9 dollar figure or so. His popularity is roughly on par with the other uber mary sue, Elminster. How much did Elminster fetch on release? While they dont release print run info, I think that they are making larger productions with each set (look how much longer sets are available, and the product is more populer than ever). That means there will be more Raistlins than Elminsters, of which there were a hell of a lot more than Drizzt. | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.

I really have to disagree. Raistlin was pretty cool in the trilogy. After that, he became another stupid god character. | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.

They are making more minis this time around, and people are more clued into getting sets and dupes of possible chase peices. Sure he will be valued at more than usual, that you can bet on. But he's no Drizzt.
I think in the original modules Raistlin was Neutral, and slipped into being Neutral Evil. My guess is as a mini he'd be LE/CE. | | "GameKnight Games and Cool Stuff Winnipeg's source for RPGs and minis!" www.gameknight.ca

| | 11 Aug 2006 11:48 AM | | I'm thinking the non-epic would be Any and epic would be LE. My reasoning is that in the trilogy Raistlin traveled with the companions not because they were good but because their paths followed the same roads for a time. He's willing to work with anyone who can help increase his arcane power. When he becomes a black robe, he'd be LE as his alignment is NE, but I don't see him working with CE for similar reasons that the LN Marut is LG only in DDM. Willing to work with anyone initially, but once his power is achieved, he settles down to LE.
It would totally rock if Raistlin had Warband Building: Any creature with the word Majere in their name is legal in your warband.
Anyone think of spells and abilities Raist might have?

I think Drizzt is getting old and am finding the side characters' stories more interesting. I am guessing that gamers like Raistlin so much is because maybe they can relate (being picked on or outcasts, etc wanting power over 'the popular' crowd). | | Originally posted by Schooly_D Username - he deals in minis Champion of Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor

He starts out as kind of a jerk, but there when his friends need him and then sells his physical health and a good chunk of his identity for arcane might and can eventually defeat a goddess.

Drizzt will continue to be the value piece, coming from the valuable and hard to find Archfiends set. But I wouldn't be suprised if Raistlin were a more valued piece then Elminster.
Personally I'd prefer a Erevis Cale mini, or if from the same novels as the two character in this topic Bruenor, Flint or Tasslehoff would personally interest me more then the fan-favourites. | | "I was sittin' here eatin' my muffin, drinkin' my coffee, replayin' the incident in my head, when I had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity." - Jules Winnfield Sales/Trades Bad (1): Ironfist Boulderbender Trades/Sales completed (8.): Danthl, Dafrca, Garyaxe, qillan_dvra, realmaster, Vandal_Savage, cavedweller, unearthed arcana. It's the ultimate revenge of the underdog, instead of finding power and staying a good guy he traversed towards the dark side. It's what Luke would have become had he been more obsessed with power than with his friendships. I think we can all relate to Raistlin a little, wondering just how far we could have gone over that intangable line, and as a result we can then understand the appeal of slipping further to the darkside like Raistlin did (or Vader did). Good point. When I played Dragonlance as a PC I was Flint Fireforge and Tasslehoff Burrfoot. And I think I'd also prefer to get Tanis, Kitiara, Caramon and Tika before Raistlin.
If Raistlin has been confirmed...is there any hint/confirmation/rumour/wild speculation that they will do any other Dragonlance iconic figures?
